Reparation Priorities for 2021-22

Having been economically and culturally marginalized for decades, the North Landale community rolled up its sleeves to change the paradigm. These programs provide employment and youth recreation opportunities to meet two vital needs, and Kinship Initiative supporters are intimately involved. Please consider joining with us to bring about long overdue reparations and justice for the community.


 
 
 
 

(1.) A workforce development campaign harnessing the resources and networks of Old St. Patrick’s. Workforce development experts, the North Lawndale Employment Network (NLEN) and Cara Chicago partner with us to help North Lawndale residents prepare for, find, retain and succeed in new job so they can enjoy greater economic and social stability and heightened dignity.

(2.) A community-based approach to youth recreation involving Old St. Patrick’s, UCAN, Play Like A Champion Today and the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council (NLCCC). It provides young North Lawndale residents with safe environments in which to play, caring, positive mentors, wider life exposure and accesses to life-changing opportunities.
